The state has established the Early Childhood and Care Transition Advisory Committee (TAC), comprised of parents, providers, advocates, and experts with diverse perspectives from across the state, to serve as an external advisory committee as the state moves toward a single early childhood agency.
The TAC gathers stakeholder input in preparation for the transition, with a particular emphasis on understanding what families need from a comprehensive early childhood system for Illinois children. Stakeholders are invited to observe monthly TAC meetings. Public comment is invited at bimonthly Listening Sessions.

There’s a seismic shift happening in early childhood public policy in Illinois. An important part of IECO’s strategy is to find common ground with other activists in the larger policy space and stay involved in the statewide conversation. It’s critical that Outdoor Nature-Based (ONB) educators and advocates join the effort to build a viable, equitable system for high quality ECE. Decisions are made by those who show up.
